Manual Handling

Our Basic Manual Handling course is designed to give employees the essential knowledge and skills to move and handle objects safely in the workplace. The course focuses on the four key principles of safe lifting and carrying, helping reduce the risk of injury and ensuring compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation.

Candidates will learn how poor handling can lead to common musculoskeletal injuries, the importance of correct posture, and how to apply practical techniques for everyday workplace tasks. The training is highly relevant across all industries, particularly where staff are expected to lift, carry, push, or pull loads as part of their role.

By the end of the course, participants will:

  • Recognise common hazards and risks associated with poor lifting techniques.

  • Apply four key principles of safe lifting to minimise injury risks.

  • Develop safer habits for lifting, lowering, pushing, and pulling loads.

This manual handling course is suitable for all staff and is a cost-effective way to meet employer responsibilities under the Manual Handling Operations Regulations (MHOR).
